Below you will find info on our usual fundraisers. With the Coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, some of these may not happen this year. When these become safe and feasible, we will update on social media and through classroom teachers. PUMPKIN RAFFLE
During the last full week of October, we raffle off pumpkins which have been decorated by staff members. All students receive two raffle tickets at no cost, and can purchase additional raffle tickets for 25 cents each. They can place their tickets in for whichever pumpkin(s) they would most like to win. Winners are announced at the Friday Community Meeting, and pumpkins are taken home that afternoon.
FAMILY FUN NIGHTS/DANCES
At least once a year we put on dances or Family Fun Nights. These events are the talk of the school, and feature dancing in one half of the gym and activities/food in the other half. Admission is free but we do sell tickets which you can use for the food & activities! The Halloween Dance normally happens on the last Friday in October.
BOOK FAIR
Our Book Fair normally happens during the first week of November, and features a Family Night as well as a couple full days for students to shop before/during/after school. All earnings from the Book Fair go toward the Library/Learning Center.
KIDS ONLY SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA
This one is not a large fundraiser…the major reason we put this on is because the kids love it so much. In the months leading up to the event, parents/guardians and community members can donate items in the front office (chotchkies, household items, most any non-clothing item you’re ready to part with that still has a bit of life in it.) The PTO will organize and stage these items, and on a Monday in the beginning of December, every class will get a chance to come through and purchase items to give to their family & friends on Christmas. All of the items are priced very low, starting at 25 cents and moving up to $2.00 for the most expensive things. This way every single student can come away with presents for their loved ones.
SMITH SMACKEROOS
Every Spring, we sell tickets for our Smith Smackeroos raffle. The raffle features cash prizes for those whose tickets are drawn, and special prizes for students who sell winning tickets. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year!
Smackeroo packets normally go home with students in the first full week of March, and prize drawings happen in April at the Friday Community Meetings. Because of the timing of the pandemic, this fundraiser did not happen last year.
